Dhaka Polytechnic Institute
Dhaka Polytechnic Institute is the oldest Polytechnic Institute in Bangladesh. It was established in 1955 with only 120 students in the first year classes of Diploma-in Engineering in four technologies, namely, civil, Electrical, Mechanical and Power, with the growing demands of mid-level technical manpower home and abroad, the Institute has since greatly expanded. The Institute now offers courses in Eleven Technologies.
The Institute is located at Tejgaon Industrial Area about four kilometers from the heart of the city and on the east side of Dhaka-Tongi highway about 100 meters north of its intersection, Satrasta. It, how over, covers an area of about 27 acres of land.
